Turner & Townsend is recruiting Project Managers to join our Life Science Real Estate unit in London. This client‑facing role will be part of a professional, ambitious team, providing excellent support and opportunities for career growth.
Responsibilities- Develop project plans, budgets, schedules and milestones to keep projects on track.
- Oversee the project budget, cost estimation and payment approvals for contractors and designers.
- Lead and supervise the project team, including contractors, architects, engineers and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Identify and manage potential risks, issues and dependencies (safety, legal, financial, environmental) and ensure mitigation actions are tracked.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, stakeholders and external contractors, providing regular progress updates.
- Manage the procurement process for designers and principal contractors.
- Oversee contract negotiations, execution and enforcement, ensuring all terms are met.
- Supervise construction on site, commissioning, validation, project closeout and capitalisation.
- Prepare monthly project reports for programme directors.
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management or Construction Management.
- Ideally an NEC‑accredited Project Manager.
- Member of a chartered institute (e.g., RICS) or willing to work towards membership.
- Good knowledge of MMC, Net Zero Carbon, Digital agenda and construction industry themes.
- Experience with the full project lifecycle and business case approvals process.
- Preferably experience working on science‑based projects in complex live environments.
- Approximately 10 years of detailed knowledge and experience delivering life‑sciences projects.
- Experience in strategic estate development and capital project planning for business‑case drafting.
- Detailed experience with NEC contract administration.
- Demonstrable client‑facing experience at all levels (e.g., Directors of Estates, Strategy, and Capital Development) to build stakeholder relationships and drive project progression.
