Job Description
Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, the North West team are recruiting for Senior Cost Engineers to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is at the forefront of industry leading change, and we are keen to speak to like-minded individuals with senior cost engineering experience to see what Turner & Townsend can offer you. Candidates will be required to be present in our client office in Warrington for 3 days per week.
Main Purpose of Role
A Senior Cost Engineer will be responsible for work packages and projects of varying size and complexity. They will manage cost control for multiple projects, ensuring projects are delivered within time and cost targets, and maintaining accurate reports for clients.
Key Accountabilities
- Tailoring Cost Control approaches to meet client needs and aligning with best practices.
- Implementing and maintaining cost control systems to track budgets, commitments, expenditures, and forecasts.
- Establishing a robust Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and supporting change control processes.
- Developing project Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) and aligning budgets with Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Managing cost data according to NEC or FIDIC contract processes.
- Leading accruals production and supporting change processes with cost information.
- Updating forecasts and ensuring accurate Estimate To Complete (ETC).
- Ensuring proper cost capture and control through work orders, purchase orders, and subcontract data.
- Validating supply chain data for accurate forecasting and trending.
- Interacting with management and leadership for project updates.
- Guiding and influencing project teams on cost control processes.
- Developing technical ability within the delivery and cost control team.
Qualifications
- Senior professional Project Controls experience in Cost Engineering/Control.
- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
- Leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work within the nuclear sector is desirable but not mandatory.
