Our SC IT Project Manager would be responsible for overseeing and managing various Defense IT projects from initiation to completion. Working closely with stakeholders, cross‑functional teams, and suppliers to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. A detailed planner, organising, and coordinating all aspects of IT projects to achieve the desired outcomes and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of IT projects in accordance with project management best practices and methodologies.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate and communicate with cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the project.
- Monitor and control project budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.
- Manage project documentation, including project charters, requirements documents, change requests, and status reports.
- Conduct regular project status meetings and provide timely updates to stakeholders on project progress, issues, and risks.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the project team.
- Ensure that projects adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Lead post‑project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify opportunities for improvement and best practices.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum experience 3+ / 5+ yrs (SPM)
- SC Clearance
- Project Management qualifications such as AgilePM, Scrum, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management certification.
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager delivering one or more of the following products – ERP (eg. Oracle / SAP), CRM (eg. Salesforce), Cloud Databases (eg. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, MS Azure), ITSM (eg. Jira SM, ServiceNow).
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make data‑driven decisions.
- Experience working with project management tools such as MS Project, JIRA, etc.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience of working across Defense, Government, Rail and Transport Sectors.
