About the Role

Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, the North West team is recruiting for Risk Managers. Our nuclear client is at the forefront of industry‑leading change, and we are keen to find candidates who can bring risk‑management expertise to a diverse, supportive team. Candidates will be required to be present in our client office in Warrington for three days per week.

Main Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing and implementing risk‑management processes tailored to the client’s needs and aligned with best practice.
  • Facilitating risk workshops with subject‑matter experts.
  • Creation and maintenance of risk registers and other risk information.
  • Challenging risk information to enhance the quality of risk data.
  • Driving the implementation of mitigation actions across projects and programmes.
  • Assisting the project team with the identification and development of measurable and specific management responses.
  • Conducting Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) for cost and schedule impacts.
  • Demonstrating competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA or similar.
  • Producing timely and efficient risk reporting using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Power BI; familiarity with web‑based database/reporting tools (ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau).
  • Collaborating with other Project Controls disciplines to maintain alignment of project information.
  • Working with the supply chain to understand and incorporate the risks they present to clients.

Qualifications & Experience

Professional risk‑management experience across the project lifecycle, preferably in the nuclear or energy sector. Demonstrated ability to adapt risk strategies to changing conditions and to communicate complex risk information to stakeholders.

  • Ability to obtain BPSS level security clearance.
  • Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., Institute of Risk Management, Association for Project Management).
  • Familiarity with at least one risk standard or approach (ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA).
  • Risk qualification such as APM Risk Certificate Level 2 or Management of Risk (MoR) is desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Research and analytical skills.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience working within a Project Controls team.
  • Desire to work within the nuclear sector.
