Job Description
Due to increased opportunities and demand in the Energy & Natural Resources division, the Energy & Natural Resources team are recruiting Project Managers to join a diverse and supportive team during a period of significant growth. Our nuclear client is at the forefront of industry leading change, and we are keen to speak to individuals with project management experience to see what Turner & Townsend can offer you.
MAIN PURPOSE
To lead delivery of non-nuclear civil infrastructure within the project scope, ensuring safe, on-time, and on-budget execution through effective contractor and stakeholder management.
SCOPE
Responsible for managing General Contractors delivering roads, utilities, buildings, and enabling works. Oversees programme, cost, risk, and contract performance. Ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards while coordinating interfaces with internal teams, suppliers, and external stakeholders.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Project management, to include:
- Lead and coordinate delivery of civil works packages
- Manage General Contractors, performance, and site progress
- Control project scope, schedule, cost, and risk
- Administer contracts, change control, and commercial performance
- Engage stakeholders, including internal teams and local authorities
- Ensure compliance with HSE, regulatory, and quality requirements
- Monitor delivery, resolve issues, and drive programme milestones
Internal management accountabilities, to include:
- Staff management (where appropriate) – Inputting into the formal management of an Assistant Project Manager or small project management team, input into resource management and attendance at junior staff appraisals
- Knowledge management – Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database
- Process improvement – Identifying and acting upon ways to improve internal systems and processes
Qualifications
Degree qualified in relevant discipline
Working towards a professional qualification (MCIOB / APM or similar)
Proven experience managing HT&M projects, ideally in a consultancy environment
Ability to successfully manage and prioritise more than one project at a time.
Will be able to obtain BPSS level security clearance.
