They require strong leadership to translate strategic intent into delivery outcomes.
You will take overall accountability for transforming our clients’ approach to project-programme-portfolio management (P3M), with a strong emphasis on cost, commercial, performance and reporting assurance, enabled through digitally supported ways of working. You will combine deep delivery leadership with a strong understanding of project controls, cost and commercial principles, and digital solutions to drive performance, assurance and investment confidence.
We are seeking to recruit a Project Director with the credibility to lead major client engagements, own delivery and commercial outcomes, and direct multi-disciplinary teams across complex digital and transformation programmes.
As part of the role, you will be expected to:
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for client engagements, owning delivery outcomes, commercial performance and client satisfaction.
- Lead the assessment of client challenges, strategic objectives and delivery maturity, translating these into clear transformation and implementation plans.
- Define, implement and embed P3M ways of working, including governance, processes, data structures, tools and systems, to improve cost, schedule, risk and performance control.
- Direct technology suppliers and system integrators, setting expectations, governing delivery quality, managing risk and protecting commercial outcomes.
- Lead and mentor multi-disciplinary delivery teams, setting direction, maintaining momentum and ensuring alignment with client priorities.
- Oversee business readiness, change and stakeholder engagement, ensuring solutions are adopted and embedded within client organisations.
- Provide senior-level cost, commercial and performance assurance, reporting and insight to client leadership teams and sponsors.
- Drive continuous improvement of Turner & Townsend’s digital P3M, cost and performance advisory capability.
- Own the production and quality assurance of key deliverables, reports and recommendations across all stages of client engagements.
- Act as a visible senior leader for Turner & Townsend at client sites and across virtual teams.
- Play a leading role in business generation, including shaping opportunities, leading bids and proposals, and supporting strategic account development.
- Contribute to market profile and thought leadership, including marketing activity, client events and employee advocacy where appropriate.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will demonstrate senior leadership experience aligned to the following. Equivalent experience gained through alternative career paths will be considered.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent senior professional experience.

- Strong experience defining and governing project and portfolio structures integrating scope, schedule, cost, risk, resources and asset information.
- Experience translating client governance and methodologies into supply-chain requirements and contractual scope.
- Leadership experience in the specification, implementation or oversight of project controls and P3M technologies.
- Deep understanding of core project controls, cost and commercial principles (scope, schedule, cost, risk, performance and reporting).
- Proven track record in capability building, organisational change and embedding new ways of working.
- APM, PMI or equivalent professional accreditation (or demonstrable equivalent experience).
