Our Performance & Reporting team are focused on driving innovation, enhancing our client’s integrated controls capability, improving performance, and delivering better programme outcomes. We have a growing national team of over 600 Controls & Performance professionals. We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Manager for Performance and Reporting to join our busy and expanding Infrastructure team, who are undertaking a range of Controls & Performance duties on several high-profile Infrastructure and Defence Projects/Programmes, locally in the Northwest and nationally.
This role is predominantly based in the North with some regional travel required and we would welcome applicants based across Yorkshire, Northwest, Northeast and Scotland.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Driving implementation & continuous improvement in performance reporting (and interfacing project controls) processes to create efficiency and increasing benefits to our clients.
- Developing performance and reporting management plans for our clients based on project requirements, maturity and best practice.
- Driving the implementation, embedding and roll-out of any identified changes to Performance and Reporting processes.
- Promoting the benefits and requirements of Performance & Reporting within the project and programme team.
- Appropriately selecting, implementing, administering, and maintaining Performance & Reporting Systems and procedures.
- Promoting the adoption of technological solutions like advanced analytics and systems automation to increase the efficiency in Performance & Reporting.
- Lead implementation and change controlling reporting hierarchies and approaches.
- Defining performance governance through projects, programmes, portfolios and the enterprise.
- Lead the definition of reporting calendars to ensure a consistent drumbeat of performance data and sufficient time to assure and analyse outputs.
- Lead the definition of project controls requirements and data flows for information management systems and supporting our digital teams in their implementation.
- Working with other Project Controls disciplines to ensure alignment of project information.
- Lead the definition of KPIs and performance measures dictionary.
- Define & Implement analysis and maintenance of corporate datasets.
- Leading teams of project controls / performance & reporting professionals to deliver effective, consistent, assured and value adding performance information to our clients across diverse and complex programmes.
- Present / provide performance recovery recommendations to relevant stakeholders and senior management to support effective decision making.
- Training and coaching clients and less experienced team members on performance and reporting management processes and practices.
- Supporting T&T’s recruitment activities to grow and develop the project controls capability.
- Undertaking line management activities including career development and performance management.
- Be an active part of our national and regional performance & reporting communities including Communities of Practice.

- Ability to interact with Senior Management / Leadership members when delivering updates on Performance Management within a complex project/programme environment.
- Ability to lead a team, responsible for defining and delivering performance management cadences, on complex projects/programmes along with all associated processes & reports.
- Guide the team/client on appropriate use of systems and tools (such as Power Bi and Excel) in relation to Performance Management, Analysis & Reporting.
- Excellent communicator, (both written and verbal), to liaise with the client, contractors and designers.
- Drive positive change happen by anticipating and embracing challenges and opportunities for clients.
- Can effectively lead, connect and communicate with people to collaborate to deliver best work and balance the needs of stakeholders carefully.

Qualifications
- A project controls related qualification (e.g. Project Planning & Controls) is desirable.
- Experience undertaking digital reporting activities in multiple complex projects is essential.
- Demonstrable track record in providing project controls support to the configuration and setup of project reporting information systems is essential.
- Practical experience of implementing Earned Value Management (EVM), progress reporting, forecasting and performance reporting and analysis is essential.
- An understanding of how other aspects of Project Controls (Scheduling, Cost Control, Change Control) interact with reporting is essential.
- Experience in leading small teams is desirable.
- Basic familiarity of some Project Controls software (Primavera P6, Active Risk Manager, Ecosys etc) is essential.
- Basic understanding of data, data architecture and data models is desirable.
- Experience in using data analysis tools (e.g. Power BI) is desirable. .
- For Defence specific requirements, individuals must be sole UK National; currently holding, or have the ability to get SC Clearance
