Overview
The Progressive Development Consultant will work as part of a dynamic team to deliver new intelligent hospitals. This role is key to ensuring the digital transformation ambition embodied in plans is realised in trust business cases and implementation plans. The role supports the client in driving transformation and innovation as well as value for money in new hospital development across planning, commissioning, and service delivery. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
Key role responsibilities
The post holder will have two primary areas of responsibility:
- Supporting the management of the day-to-day operations and delivery of the client\\\’s Digital Programme, working across a defined portfolio of scheme Trusts and with flexibility to operate across the wider Portfolio.
- Deliver a Provider Support Offer that encompasses,
- A Business Case Review Service, including the planning of benefits and evaluation of all five cases within the Business Case.
- Guidance and advice on implementation of programme Digital Standards related to Intelligent Hospitals and facilitating links to wider NHS England digital transformation programmes.
- Coordinating scheme dedicated access to SMEs (Equipping, Smart Buildings, Benefits, Technical and Commercial) to provide targeted implementation advice, guidance, good practice / lessons learned and support to increase the likelihood of successful scheme delivery. This includes supporting scheme development of requirements for procurement of services not available centrally.
Qualifications
- Evidence of planning and delivering programmes and projects and services on time.
- Ability to work without supervision, providing specialist advice to the organisation, working to tight and often changing timescales.
- Knowledge of major digital investment programmes in the public sector; due diligence assurance of locally led programmes; funding distribution and monitoring spend against proven outcomes.
- Experience of working within concurrent digitally enabled transformation programmes, ideally within a secondary care Trust environment that involve multiple aspects of a digital team (systems, infrastructure, integration, and development) and close engagement with the user community.
- Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- Better Business Case Foundation level required, Practitioner preferred or economics background.
- Exemplary communication and stakeholder management skills.
