Key role responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver PoC / PoV projects for priority areas such as smart wards, digital twins and advanced building systems.
- Ensure all pilots meet NHS digital and cyber assurance requirements including clinical safety and data protection standards.
- Align solutions with the Hospital 2.0 platform ensuring compatibility with standardised design and repeatable components.
- Assess estates impacts and compliance with NHS technical standards (HBNs / HTMs) managing derogations where needed.
- Apply Construction Playbook principles including early supplier engagement, outcome based specifications and modern methods of construction.
- Maintain robust governance, risk management and reporting for all pilot activities.
- Evaluate benefits and produce recommendations for scaling successful solutions across the programme.
Qualifications:
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience delivering PoC / PoV projects in complex or regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of NHS digital assurance frameworks and clinical safety standards.
- Knowledge of Hospital 2.0 principles and their application in healthcare design and delivery.
- Familiarity with NHS estates technical standards (HBNs / HTMs) and their impact on digital and physical environments.
- Experience applying Construction Playbook practices in procurement or project delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage risks, benefits and governance in multi-discipline projects.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience in healthcare construction, digital health or smart hospital technologies.
- Understanding of cyber security frameworks and NHS data protection requirements.
- Knowledge of BIM, digital twins or interoperability standards.
- Exposure to modern methods of construction and sustainability initiatives.
Professional Memberships:
- Project management qualifications (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, Agile).
- Clinical Safety Officer training or willingness to obtain.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. BCS, IHEEM, IET) is an advantage.
