Within the South West region of the UK, our Infrastructure team has established strong positions across the Transport and Utilities sectors. With significant growth in recent years, we are continuing to expand our presence and are looking to connect with Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, particularly those based in Bristol, Cardiff and the wider South West area. We offer the opportunity to work on high profile projects and programmes across the region, alongside wider UK opportunities, supporting clients operating under New Engineering Contract (NEC), Professional Service Contracts (PSC) and Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC).

We are seeking Project Managers who enjoy collaborating to solve complex challenges and continue to develop their technical skills and experience.

Job Objectives:

  • Managing and administrating NEC PSC and/or ECC contracts;
  • Managing, leading and developing project teams or work streams as part of larger projects and delivering results through others;
  • Being responsible for high quality delivery on a client assignment;
  • Building long term trusted advisor relationships with our clients;
  • Actively developing solutions and supporting tools and methods;
  • Liaising with service line teams, account teams and functional specialists;
  • Communicating effectively and focusing on efficient, collaborative and quality delivery.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in managing medium to large sized teams as part of a blended effort working alongside other organisations;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable working with a diverse range of personalities across clients and partner organisations;
  • Ability to engage and manage multiple stakeholders and manage cross functional projects;
  • Ability to deliver projects within a technically complex environment whilst ensuring high levels of safety and environmental responsibility;
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills / flexibility to understand complex problems and shape these into workable solutions for delivery;
  • Ability to develop and deliver high quality output against stated business and technical project objectives and meet tight deadlines safely;
  • Ability to maintain momentum, support colleagues and deliver successful outcomes in challenging project environments;
  • Strong understanding of the project controls disciplines such as planning, risk and change with the ability to interpret the information they provide and support insightful reporting;
  • Ability to develop effective written presentations and participate effectively in meetings with senior client staff;
  • Experience of managing contractors, consultants and other advisors on civil engineering projects;
  • Ensure the principles of lessons learnt and knowledge capture are practiced as business as usual;
  • Knowledge and experience of the CDM Regulations;
  • Experience of Engineering/Asset Management.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years experience of project management and/or programme management, adding value at the initial strategic planning phase all the way into implementation, construction and delivery in the context of infrastructure projects and programmes;
  • Previous experience of working with infrastructure projects;
  • Previous experience of procurement and managing NEC contracts would be highly advantageous but not essential;

Qualifications:

  • Project management certification (Association of Project Managers (APM), Institute of Project Managers (IPM) or PRINCE2);
  • Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification in an engineering or construction field;
  • Professionally qualified or near qualified status with the Institute of Civil Engineering (ICE), Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM), or similar professional institution would be advantageous;
  • NEC3 or NEC4 PM Accreditation;
  • Construction Institution Training Board (CITB) Site Management Safety Training Course would also be desirable;
  • Full UK Driving License.
