Turner & Townsend is a leading consultancy provider in the Infrastructure and Defence sectors, supporting major global projects.

We are recruiting an experienced Estimator to join our UK Estimating team and support Defence sector clients on complex programmes.

The role requires a UK national holding UK Mo D Security Clearance (SC) and the ability to maintain it.

Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects, from Order of Magnitude to detailed cost models, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Control and manage the estimating process at project level, working independently or as part of a team.
  • Deliver estimates without management or supervision, ensuring high quality.
  • Promote and support estimating best practice within Turner & Townsend and across client organisations.
  • Assist in achieving departmental objectives and stay up to date with developments in your technical area.

Qualifications

  • Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
  • Experience working in the Defence sector and in complex cost model development.
  • Demonstrable experience in compiling, assuring and delivering complex estimates and cost models.
  • Experience working within an integrated Project Controls team and on public sector projects.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and client‑facing experience.
  • Preferred
  • Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or a degree qualification.
  • Experience in early‑stage estimating for major Defence infrastructure programmes.
  • Familiarity with industry‑standard estimating software packages.
  • Security Clearance
