We are seeking an enthusiastic Finance/Cost Analyst to join our specialist Cost Assurance team within the UK Infrastructure business. The role will focus on delivering reliable cost assurance to support our growth and enhance client value.
Responsibilities
- Cost verification – verify costs incurred against allowable contract costs.
- Process/system audits – conduct governance and compliance checks on contracts and standard practice.
- Application for Payment (AfP) health checks – review the integrity of AfP applications and generation.
- Reporting and dashboards – produce and update reports and dashboards for senior team members and clients.
- Team support – provide support to junior members and foster their development.
- Commission management – manage commissions, develop templates, best-practice guides and grow the service offering.
Job Objectives
- Review construction contractor systems, controls and processes to assess best practices.
- Analyse complex construction contracts and understand client objectives and risk areas.
- Plan financial audits and perform data testing using data visualisation and trend/pattern analysis.
- Produce findings reports delivering key findings, recommendations and messages in a succinct professional manner.
- Build quality working relationships with clients built around trust and professionalism.
- Maintain internal systems to ensure commission and financial management is compliant with business process.
Qualifications
- Degree level or equivalent.
- Auditing/finance experience – preferred but not essential.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA – part or fully qualified, or ambition to be supported to achieve this – preferred but not essential.
- Data analysis – ability to review and draw insights from large quantities of data in various formats.
- Time management – working in a team environment and handling variable workload through peaks and troughs.
- Assessment of accuracy and entitlement to costs – e.g. certification of application for payment or review of invoices.
- Report writing – communicating complex messages succinctly to maximise impact.
- Construction industry technical matters – such as disallowed cost areas, calculation of pain/gain amounts, etc.
- Contract knowledge – NEC3/4 (Option C, E) preferred.
