Working with clients across real estate, infrastructure, energy and natural resources, the role delivers CDM and H&S consultancy services from our Newcastle office. The incumbent will manage compliance with CDM regulations, develop processes, and drive service excellence in meeting client needs.
Responsibilities
- Understand and develop existing systems and processes to improve both CDM and H&S efficiency.
- Provide expert advice and, where required, act as Principal Designer and help the client manage and understand their legal responsibilities, in accordance with CDM regulations.
- Establish positive relations with existing and new clients to gain confidence and become a trusted advocate.
- Represent Turner & Townsend in a professional and diligent manner including meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients in a timely manner.
- Manage all commissions, where responsibility is assigned, to ensure both client expectations / scope of service and the requirements of Turner & Townsend's business management system are effectively discharged.
- Carry out H&S performance reviews, audits, etc. on behalf of the client.
- Liaise proactively and professionally with SHQ and wider Turner & Townsend colleagues to contribute to team effectiveness; support others as needed and ensure consistency, quality and profitability of shared projects.
- Compile and create relevant pre‑construction information and H&S files; SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- Full UK driving licence
- NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent)
- GradIOSH or equivalent Membership of the APS
- Experience as a Principal Designer
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to effectively plan and organise own workload to meet deadlines
- Extensive knowledge and experience within the Construction Industry, specifically around the CDM Regulations
- Experience of a diverse range of industry sectors desired, with a proven ability to meet clients needs.
