Job Description
Role Purpose
The Business Development Director is responsible for identifying, developing and securing strategic programme, project management, cost management and advisory opportunities across Turner & Townsend’s Global Energy & Natural Resources sector.
The role will focus on driving growth across Oil & Gas, LNG, Nuclear, Clean & Low Carbon Energy, Power Generation, Power Transmission & Distribution, and Mining.
Working closely with global sector leaders, regional management teams and key client account leaders, the Business Development Director will develop and convert a high-value pipeline of opportunities, strengthen strategic client relationships, and position Turner & Townsend as the partner of choice for the successful delivery of complex capital programmes and major infrastructure investments.
The role will play a key part in delivering Turner & Townsend’s global growth ambitions through market engagement, account development, strategic pursuits, and collaboration across our international business.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify, develop and secure major opportunities across the Energy & Natural Resources sector globally.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of programme management, project controls, cost management, commercial management and advisory opportunities.
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the sector’s growth objectives and priority markets.
- Identify emerging investment trends, project developments and strategic opportunities within target sectors and geographies.
- Promote Turner & Townsend’s integrated service offering and develop client-focused solutions that differentiate the business in the marketplace.
- Position Turner & Townsend as a trusted partner throughout the full capital project lifecycle, from strategy and investment planning through delivery and operational readiness.
- Work collaboratively with regional and global leadership teams to identify new market opportunities and growth initiatives.
- Strategic Client Engagement
- Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with owners, operators, developers, investors, utilities, governments and major capital programme sponsors.
- Build and execute strategic account plans for priority clients and target accounts.
- Develop a deep understanding of client business objectives, investment strategies and capital programme priorities.
- Facilitate engagement between clients and Turner & Townsend's leadership, technical specialists and operational teams.
- Represent Turner & Townsend at industry conferences, forums and client events, promoting the firm's capabilities and market presence.
- Build relationships with industry partners, contractors, technology providers and key market stakeholders to support strategic growth objectives.

- Lead strategic pursuits from early client engagement through qualification, proposal development, negotiation and contract award.
- Develop and implement capture plans for major opportunities and framework agreements.

- Significant business development experience within Energy & Natural Resources, infrastructure, professional services, consultancy, engineering or project delivery environments.
- Demonstrated success in originating and securing major capital programmes, projects or framework agreements.
