The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 £ per year.

From your first day, you will be exposed to unique and complex environments, contributing to programmes across air, land, sea, cyber and space. You will gain experience that strengthens your capability and advances your career, working alongside leading professionals in the defence, aerospace and security sectors. You will support clients in delivering major programmes that enhance national capability and transform the defence landscape. You will be based from your local office in a hybrid model, collaborating with colleagues and client teams across the UK.

Key Requirements

Due to the sensitive nature of the work involved in our specialist defence projects, candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, Security Clearance (SC). Hybrid working means you will collaborate with colleagues from home, a Turner & Townsend office, and client sites across the region on a weekly basis, with occasional in‑person collaboration requiring travel 2-3 days per week.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in cost management, estimating, quantity surveying or contract administration.
  • Background in large‑scale infrastructure or civils projects.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to work within complex stakeholder environments.
  • Desire to broaden your career into the Defence and national security domain.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying or commercial management within major construction, infrastructure or civils projects.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, contract placement and post‑award management.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with NEC and JCT contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable

  • Awareness of UK Government procurement frameworks (QDC, DSPCR, PCR).
  • Professional qualification (RICS, CICES, CIPS) or working towards it.
  • Proficiency in cost management software (e.g., CostX, CATO, Excel).
  • Experience in bid writing or evaluation techniques.

Additional Requirements

  • British National.
  • Holder of a valid UK passport.
  • 5‑10 years of continuous UK residency, depending on the level.
  • SOX control responsibilities may apply to this role and must be adhered to where relevant.
