Turner & Townsend is undergoing one of the most exciting periods in its history. As we continue to grow and transform, we are seeking an experienced Business Cutover Lead to play a critical role in delivering a complex business change programme. This is a high-impact, delivery-focused role at the heart of a major system and business transformation. You will be responsible for planning and executing business cutover activities to ensure seamless transition from legacy systems to new platforms, with minimal disruption to operations.

Working alongside a Technical Cutover Lead and cross-functional delivery teams, you will lead the business-facing elements of cutover planning and execution. You will act as the central coordinator during critical go-live periods, ensuring alignment across business stakeholders, technical teams and programme leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced change or programme professional who thrives in high-pressure delivery environments and has a strong track record of managing complex cutover activities, particularly within UK payroll implementations. The role will involve close collaboration with senior stakeholders, project teams and business leads, requiring strong communication, organisation and leadership capability.

Please note that this is a fixed-term role, ending early October 2026.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and own the end-to-end business cutover strategy, covering pre-cutover, go-live and post-go-live phases
  • Create detailed cutover plans, runbooks and checklists to ensure all activities are clearly defined and sequenced
  • Coordinate activities during go-live, ensuring these are executed in line with plans
  • Work closely with the Technical Cutover Lead to ensure alignment between business and technical workstreams
  • Coordinate across business, technology and vendor teams to ensure readiness for deployment
  • Identify, track and mitigate risks, maintaining RAID logs and developing robust contingency and rollback plans
  • Plan and facilitate mock cutovers and dress rehearsals to validate readiness and ensure data integrity
  • Provide clear, regular and timely updates to senior stakeholders and programme leadership
  • Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during transition and rapid resolution of any issues
QualificationsEssential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a Business Cutover Lead or similar role within large-scale transformation programmes
  • Demonstrable experience delivering UK payroll cutovers
  • Strong experience developing and executing detailed cutover strategies and plans
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with both business and technical teams
  • Strong risk management capability, including RAID management and contingency planning
  • Experience leading go-live activities and coordinating cross-functional teams during critical delivery windows
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
