Our Programme Advisory business offers services to clients in the strategy, set-up and transition and transformation of their capability to deliver major programmes and projects both in the UK and globally, with a market leading client base across the public and private sectors.

We are seeking to recruit experienced Principal and Senior Consultants in the field of project finance and business case development, specifically those with experience in de-carbonisation and Net Zero projects and/or programmes in renewable energies, transport and economic infrastructure assets using different funding and financing sources, and delivery models.

Our project finance and business case advisory team support clients in developing, implementing, and optimising procurement and funding strategies for greener and sustainable fit to meet Net Zero targets.

  • Understand the factors influencing major programme set up, development and delivery at different stages in the programme lifecycle; the emphasis on business case development and major infrastructure development using private capital;
  • Use your experience and knowledge to contribute to the assessment of a business challenge, the development of a ‘optimal’ solution and implementation of that solution;
  • Deploy our established processes, tools, and systems, tailoring these to suit specific circumstances and contributing to their continuous improvement and development;
  • Use your strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to support the successful adoption and realisation of successful business outcomes;
  • Present your ideas and outputs in a clear, concise, and engaging manner;
  • Be confident operating as part of a multi-disciplined team providing a holistic professional advisory service to our clients in all parts of a major programme;
  • Be accountable for the quality of your work and delivering on excellent client care;
  • Share your knowledge and experience with your colleagues through our communities of practice, social media channels and workshops;
  • Identify, contribute to and progress business generation opportunities where appropriate.

With a natural approach to business generation and excellent commercial acumen, you will possess the strength and conviction to support, lead, develop and manage existing and future relationships with the full support of the Programme Advisory senior leadership team, all within an entrepreneurial environment that encourages a flexible approach to working.

To be an attractive candidate for our business, you will possess some of the following attributes:

  • Degree or Masters or MBA qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous;
  • Experience of project finance and/or business case development preferably in one or more of de-carbonisation and Net Zero, Renewable energy, Defence, or Water;
  • Experience of working with the public sector, with a portfolio of experience in managing transactions/projects with a public sector delivery setting for across a range of sectors and organisations;
  • Understanding of the latest UK policy guidance development and implementation of economic benefit assessment, including social value, community benefits and low carbon transition;
  • Experience in some, or all, of the following technologies and services in de-carbonisation and Net Zero: ideally this will also include hydrogen, electric/zero emissions and hybrid transport infrastructure, sustainable transport, batteries (including battery storage), carbon capture storage;
  • Understanding of the concept of project finance and the role private capital plays in infrastructure development, in particular, de-carbonisation and Net Zero;
  • Demonstrable capability as an influencer within commercial / procurement environments, coupled with the flair to leverage commercial opportunities and grow client relationships as a ‘trusted advisor’;
  • Robust and methodical analytical skills, adaptable and a team player to work as part of a growing business unit;
  • Owing to the sensitive nature of the works involved in these specialist projects, candidates will be required to hold, or be able to hold, valid security clearance (SC) and in order to do so will need to be: British Nationals, Hold a UK Passport.
