Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Control and manage the estimating process at the project level.
- Produce estimates independently without management or supervision.
- Work as part of a team or as an individual with limited supervision.
- Support the development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend.
- Represent Turner & Townsend in promoting estimating good practice within client organisations.
- Assist in the achievement of departmental objectives.
- Keep abreast of developments within your technical area of expertise to provide best practice advice.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
- Experience working in the Defence sector.
- Demonstrable experience in compilation, assurance and delivery of complex estimates and cost models.
- Experience working within an integrated Project Controls team.
- Experience with public sector projects.
- Excellent and flexible skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of working in a client‑facing environment.
Preferred
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or a degree level education.
- Experience in early stage estimating in complex or major Defence Infrastructure programmes.
- Familiarity with industry‑standard estimating software packages.
