MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

To perform the role of the Commission Manager, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery and ensuring client objectives are met through effective cost management.

SCOPE

Cost Managers handle commissions of varying sizes, typically within the £5m to £10m range.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Commission Management, including feasibility studies, estimating, cost planning, tendering, contract administration, cost checks, valuations, and monthly reporting.
  • Marketing and business development, identifying opportunities, maintaining a professional network, and assisting in bid documentation.
  • Internal management accountabilities, including knowledge management and process improvement.

REPORTING

A Cost Manager is likely to report to a Senior Cost Manager or Associate Director.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

A Cost Manager will be assessed on the quality and efficiency of commission management, service delivery, relationship building, team effectiveness, business development opportunities, and information management.

Qualifications
