Overview

In this role you will own performance and quality for major energy and infrastructure projects within the Natural Resources team.

You will plan, execute and escalate as needed, working with clients and contractors to meet KPIs and drive value through cost control and governance.

You’ll lead commercial decisions, forecast accuracy, and final accounts while contributing to internal knowledge and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of performance and quality, delivering reliable, client‑focused outputs.
  • Plan and execute work effectively, identifying opportunities to add value and knowing when to act independently or escalate.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients, building strong relationships and maintaining a professional, respectful approach.
  • Communicate clearly and constructively to support productive ways of working and address challenges.
  • Administer and manage contracts with accurate cost monitoring, forecasting, reporting, change management, and control of variances and cashflow.
  • Work with client and contractor teams to deliver on KPIs, programme performance, cost control and value engineering, ensuring governance and best practice.
  • Provide sound commercial leadership, improving forecast accuracy, offering commercial advice, and timely final accounts agreements.
  • Contribute to internal excellence by capturing lessons learned and suggesting improvements to internal systems and processes.
  • Key requirements
  • Degree or HNC level qualification
  • NEC3/4 or FIDIC experience
  • Cost / commercial management experience on Energy (nuclear, renewables, transmission & distribution, oil & gas, low carbon) or Infrastructure (water / utilities / rail / roads/ aviation) projects
  • Experience of working on major programmes or project portfolios
  • Professional Chartership (preferable)
