Estimator All Levels – Defence Infrastructure
Join Turner & Townsend\'s Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre as an Estimator, supporting projects across the UK ranging from several hundred thousand pounds to over £200 million.
About the Role
The role is consultancy‑based, client‑focused, and requires working on site or at Turner & Townsend offices approximately 60 % of the time, with travel as needed. The team is based in Manchester and across the North of the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely and efficient manner.
- Control and manage the estimating process at project level.
- Prepare estimates independently, without management or supervision.
- Gather and share estimating data.
- Promote good estimating practice within Turner & Townsend.
- Assist in achieving departmental objectives.
- Stay updated on developments within your technical area to give best‑practice advice in line with business objectives.
Qualifications
- High‑standard qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience.
- Successful experience providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment.
- Previous experience with estimating software packages.
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or working towards one.
- Desirable membership of RICS, CIOB, or similar.
Working in Teams / Site Attendance
We recognise the importance of hybrid working while also meeting the demands of our clients. You will be expected to be on client sites or Turner & Townsend offices about 60 % of the time, though this may flex depending on client and business requirements.
Security Clearance
