Turner & Townsend is looking for Estimators and Senior Estimators with proven experience across the Infrastructure sector (Rail, Highways, Power, Marine, Water or Utilities). The North East & Yorkshire region has secured long‑term commissions on major programmes, and we are flexible on location across Newcastle, Teesside, Sheffield and Leeds. You will support clients as an embedded resource or through ad‑hoc work as part of the Turner & Townsend Estimating Hub.
Key Deliverables
- Estimate Production – from order‑of‑magnitude to detailed estimates built from first principles
- Estimating Assurance
- Estimating Support to Major Programme Set‑up
- Data analysis and benchmarking
Responsibilities
- Production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects in a timely and efficient manner
- Control and management of the estimating process at the project level
- Production of estimates independently, without direct management or supervision
- Assist with gathering and sharing estimating data
- Support the development and promotion of good estimating practice within Turner & Townsend
- Assist in achieving departmental objectives
- Stay abreast of developments within your technical area of expertise to provide best‑practice advice in line with business objectives
- Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable
Qualifications
- High standard qualification in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience
- Successful experience providing estimating and/or QS services in a large‑project environment
- Experience with estimating software packages
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status, or working towards it
- Desirable membership of RICS, CIOB, or similar
