Responsibilities
- Provide a deep knowledge and understanding of end-to-end Contract Lifecycle Management.
- Ensure value is maximized throughout the category and contracting process.
- Source and procure highly complex contracting requirements with high criticality impact.
- Ensure optimum value within a defined service, lead and evaluate competitive tender processes, negotiating with major suppliers on all commercial and contractual matters.
- Experience in preparing project contracting strategies, ITTs and drafting contract documents and award recommendations within the Supply Chain function, preferably within the energy industry.
- Manage major capital project sourcing activities in accordance with Client’s HSES, Energy Policies, Standards & Procedures.
- Build and maintain a strong market network, stay aware of forthcoming opportunities and supplier developments.
- Assist in drafting new frameworks / Call-off agreements to ensure organisational requirements are met.
- Support in developing prequalification and evaluation criteria and evaluating all packages.
- Ensure all elements of the scope of work are included in the contract documentation.
- Support the commercial evaluation process of bids and adhere to the organisation’s policies and procedures.
- Work as a Business Partner with key internal stakeholders, manage all contracting activity, and create contract plans that deliver in line with business objectives, regulatory requirements and value negotiated.
- Identify opportunities for, lead and evaluate competitive tenders and proposals, negotiating with suppliers on all commercial and contractual matters and applying judgment on acceptable levels of contractual risk and supply resilience.
- Report changes and updates through proactive governance.
- Pro-active contract management and claim negotiations, including resolution of issues/disputes in contracts.
- Lead on assessment of contract variations in line with contractual provisions.
- Review supplier contract submittals and coordinate responses within contractual timescales.
- Ensure contract compliance throughout the duration, monitor deliverables, manage variations and claims, and resolve disputes.
- Data analysis and reporting for forecasting, planning and record-keeping purposes.
- Extensive record keeping to support tender administration and governance of purchase requisitions/purchase orders.
- Support procurement activities on current frameworks to meet immediate requirements in a timely manner.
- Prepare and manage procurement timelines and plans for the entire project duration.
Qualifications
- Significant demonstrable experience in contracts management, preferably within the energy sector.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management / Engineering / Business / Law or equivalent.
- MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) qualification would be preferred but not essential.
- Contract management experience throughout the life cycle of offshore/onshore projects, including contract change management and contract claim management.
- Extensive knowledge of contracts for offshore/onshore operations.
- Understanding of financial analysis and reporting of project budgets.
- Ability to build, maintain and manage close relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
