We have a thriving UK Estimating team supporting clients both in the UK and overseas.
We are looking for talented Senior Estimators with proven Defence estimating experience to work with key Defence sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Support leadership or manage the production of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects/programmes.
- Play a supporting role in the development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend.
- Play a supporting role in the achievement of departmental objectives.
- Support bids for new work.
- Act as a role model for less experienced staff.
- Manage staff, where appropriate.
- Support development and promotion of estimating best practice.
- Stay abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to provide best‑practice advice aligned with business objectives.
- Actively help the development of Defence Estimating across the business.
Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering.
- Experience working in the Defence sector.
- Demonstrable and proven experience in compilation, assurance and delivery of complex estimates and cost models.
- Experience working within an integrated Project Controls team.
- Experience on public sector projects.
- Excellent and flexible skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience in a client‑facing environment.
Preferred
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or a degree level education.
- Experience in early‑stage estimating in complex or major Defence Infrastructure programmes.
- Familiarity with industry‑standard estimating software packages.
- Security Clearance & Eligibility
Many of the clients and projects we support are subject to Mo D security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
