Senior Estimator Defence Full-Time in Bristol

Turner & Townsend is looking for talented Senior Estimators with proven Defence estimating experience to work with a number of our key Defence sector clients across the South East, South West and Midlands in a wide variety of exciting projects/programmes. Our team delivers a wide range of estimating outputs for our clients, to support their decision making, including:

• Estimate / cost model production (from Order of Magnitude through to detailed estimates)
• Estimating assurance

Responsibilities

• Support leadership or manage the production of accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects/programmes
• Promote estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend and help achieve departmental objectives
• Support bids for new work
• Act as a role model for less experienced staff and manage staff where appropriate
• Stay abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise to give best practice advice in line with business objectives
• Actively help the development of Defence Estimating across the business
• Support SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Estimating, Quantity Surveying or Cost Engineering
• Experience of working in the Defence sector
• Demonstrable and proven experience in compilation, assurance and delivery of complex estimates and cost models
• Experience working within an integrated Project Controls team on public sector projects
• Excellent and flexible skills in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience of working in a client‑facing environment
• Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or a degree level education (preferred)
• Experience in early stage estimating in complex/major Defence Infrastructure programmes (preferred)
• Familiarity with industry‑standard estimating software packages (preferred)
