Working closely with senior technical colleagues, you will help ensure our cloud environment remains secure, resilient, and optimised for a modern digital workplace.
This role requires extensive hands‑on experience with the Microsoft 365 technology stack—including the Power Platform, Azure compute services, and ALM—and a desire to contribute to a small, agile, security‑focused engineering team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Administer Microsoft 365 services — Support senior specialists in managing Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, and Entra ID identity governance.
- Maintain governance and access control — Contribute to permission design, RBAC structures, and least‑privilege configurations across the environment.
- Support the deployment and configuration of Azure infrastructure components (compute, storage, identity, networking, and app services).
- Deploy and configure Azure components – assist with cloud compute operations, monitoring, and optimisation using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, as well as endpoint management with Intune.
- Support and enhance Power Apps (canvas apps), Power Automate workflows, and Power BI dashboards.
- Assist the team in supporting the user base with ad-hoc service desk tickets.
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Intune, and Entra ID.
- Solid understanding of Azure administration covering compute (AVD), storage, virtual networking, and identity management.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications (AZ900, AZ104, MS900, PL900) or a degree or similar in Information Technology or related discipline.
- Practical experience implementing RBAC, conditional access, least‑privilege models, and governance controls across M365 and Azure.
- Competent in supporting and enhancing Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages).
- Working knowledge of cloud operations, including monitoring, incident response, optimisation, and service health management: Sentinel, Azure Monitor, and basic KQL.
- Familiarity with ALM principles, Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform or Azure.
- Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments, including compliance, data protection, and threat mitigation.
- Ability to interpret and follow architectural guidance from senior engineers, contributing to scalable and secure cloud solutions.
- Adaptability and time management: strong adaptability and time‑management skills, ensuring you can stay productive, meet deadlines, and deliver high‑quality work in a fast‑moving, dynamic environment.
- Collaborative working: Able to work collaboratively in a small, high‑trust team where knowledge‑sharing is essential.
- Communication: proven ability to present complex information, concepts and technology clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- Experience managing or supporting deployments of RIB software, such as CostX, or other industry-standard applications such as Primavera P6, or similar project controls / cost management platforms.
- Background in 2nd/3rd line support within Microsoft focused environments (experience desirable, not part of day-to-day responsibilities).
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (NCSC, ISO 27001, Defstan).
- Familiarity or experience with infrastructure as code tooling (Terraform, Open Tofu etc.).
- Exposure to information protection, DLP, or collaboration barrier configurations.
