Job Description
Due to increased workload and the securing of new clients across the Infrastructure and Real Estate sectors, Turner & Townsend has a new opportunity for an Associate Director to join our growing Contract Services division in the UK. The successful candidate will drive procurement strategy for public and private sector clients, lead end‑to‑end procurement services, and develop our team and service offerings in areas such as Sustainable Procurement, Transformation, Renewables, Digital Procurement and Net Zero Strategies.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialist procurement strategy advice to Public and Private sector clients.
- Lead and manage end‑to‑end procurement services on major projects or programmes.
- Lead and support the development of the procurement services offered by Turner & Townsend.
- Lead and develop a team to achieve successful outcomes for our clients.
- Manage client relationships and related commission outputs and deliverables.
- Lead and support business development and marketing of the Contract Services team’s service proposition.
- Lead on bid preparation and proposal documentation and support the work‑winning capability of the contract services division.
- Support the delivery of both team and wider business targets.
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience with regulated procurement, particularly Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and awareness of the Green Paper and potential changes to the public procurement regime.
- Leading strategic major procurement projects or programmes for Public and Private sector clients.
- Strong background in tender preparation, development and management, ideally including negotiation.
- Commission, client relationship and people management experience.
- Experience developing and using various forms of contracts, with particular focus on NEC and JCT.
- Cross‑sector experience with a strong public procurement background is highly desirable.
- Have achieved, working towards or willing to work towards MCIPS accreditation.
- Business generation including bid development.
- Preferably possess a degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law or procurement.
- Preferably possess experience working in Defence, Utilities, Infrastructure (roads, rail, etc.) sectors.
- Valid or reinstatable (SC) Security Clearance.
Skills:
- Ability to lead and develop key strategies and documentation for major procurement projects that comply with Public Sector Regulations or equivalent.
- Able to manage and supervise the delivery of others for a successful outcome.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and ability to build strong, professional client relationships.
- Strong supply chain intelligence, supplier evaluation, commercial principles and modelling strategies.
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem solving.
- Ability to manage work/business development/career development activities.
