Job Description

Turner & Townsend is one of the leading consultancy providers to the Infrastructure sector and we have a thriving UK Estimating team making the difference for a large number of clients both in the UK and Overseas. We are now looking for talented Associate Director-level Estimating professionals to work on a wide variety of exciting projects/programmes and support the leadership of our ambitious growth plans.

Our team deliver a wide range of Estimating outputs for our clients, to support their decision making, including:

  • Estimate Production (from Order of Magnitude estimates through to detailed estimates built up from first principles)
  • Estimating Assurance
  • Estimating Support to Major Programme Set up
  • Estimating Data

As an Associate Director within the Estimating team at Turner & Townsend you will be responsible for:

  • Leading or managing the production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans for projects/programmes
  • Playing a leading role in the development and promotion of estimating good practice within Turner & Townsend;
  • Playing a leading role in the achievement of departmental objectives;
  • Staying abreast of developments within own technical area of expertise
  • Working with Directors to construct bids for new work
  • Providing direction to staff working for you and with you on specific tasks.
  • Acting as a role model for less experienced staff
  • Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages
  • Taking responsibility for developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients
  • Identifying and acting upon cross-selling opportunities
  • Staff management (where appropriate)
  • Knowledge management

Qualifications

  • Proven Estimating Management experience
  • Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience
  • Previous experience of working with estimating software packages;
  • Desirable membership of RICS / CIOB /A. Cost E.
  • Experience of working on Major Programmes and Projects
  • Experience of working in the Infrastructure (Rail, air, power, highways) sector
  • Experience in leading and managing teams
