We are currently looking to engage an Associate Director with proven experience in Natural Resources and New Energies to take a lead on the expansion of our offering in Aberdeen.
- Client facing, stakeholder engagement with key clients in Natural Resources and New Energies
- Business development, growth of the Aberdeen team
- Team development across planning & controls, cost management, project management
- Anticipated pace of growth is ambitious but has to be sustainable
- Lead on Aberdeen recruitment with support from wider Natural Resources North (NRN) senior leadership team (SLT)
- Proposal and bid writing/reviews
- 60% to 80% time delivering planning and project controls across major programmes and the remaining time supporting the development and growth of the Aberdeen team
- Work with SLT within the Natural Resources North cost centre as well as the wider UK programme controls function
- Mentoring and coaching
Other responsibilities include:
- As expansion plan lead
- Working closely with other cost centres with an Aberdeen office presence
- Onboarding of new starts
- Build a leadership team in Aberdeen to support growth plan
- Health, Safety and Well-being focus for team
- Establish close bond with the team, especially those working remotely or in client organisations
On Commission:
- Reviewing new project proposals/remits and monitor so that realistic, resource plans are developed for delivery of programmes
- Identify resourcing requirements to support programmes and liaise with client planning functions to resolve resourcing issues
- Provide an efficient day-to-day service to the Programme and Project Manager teams in reporting on plans, costs, safety, environment and programme performance
- Monitoring for accuracy and consistency of plans, cost, safety, environment and performance reporting, and deploying available planning and controls team resources to best effect
- Monitoring data input by project teams and others to cost and performance systems to assure deliverables against required data standards
SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications:
- Natural Resources and New Energies focused experience
- Proven business development experience
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Strong understanding of strategic resource management
- Adaptability and resilience
- Ability to evidence an established management and leadership approach
- Knowledge of reputational, commercial and financial risk
- Skilled in oral and written communication
- Proven Project Management Office (PMO) experience within planning and project controls, ideally with a Natural Resources and New Energies focus
- Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications such as Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office Applications
- Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up work processes
- Knowledge of Aberdeen specific market would be advantageous
- Knowledge of digital PMO’s would be advantageous
