Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of large infrastructure projects across the project lifecycle, including contract management, financial management, project controls, health, safety, quality and environmental management.
- Develop and lead project teams, mentor colleagues and support the growth of future Project Managers.
- Engage with diverse stakeholders, building trusting relationships and managing client expectations.
- Plan, communicate and organise multiple work streams simultaneously, delivering on time and within budget.
- Apply problem‑solving, analytical and numerical skills to shape complex issues into workable solutions.
- Maintain SOX control responsibilities where applicable.
Qualifications
- Significant experience of project and/or programme management across the project lifecycle – project management principles, delivering client objectives, contract management, leadership, financial management, and project controls.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, able to develop teams in challenging or ambiguous environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with a range of personalities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach.
- Planning, communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously.
- Experience with large projects or programmes and managing project teams across a wide geographical area.
- Creative, curious and growth mindset.
- Degree or HND qualification in management, construction or infrastructure, or equivalent experience.
- Professional affiliation or qualification: APM, ICE, CIWEM, or similar.
- Project management certification (APM, PRINCE2, MSP).
- NEC PM accreditations or qualifications.
Beneficial Experience
- Utilities/water infrastructure project management.
- Procurement and NEC contract management.
- Managing contractors, consultants and other advisors on infrastructure projects.
- Consultancy or client‑side project management experience.
- Familiarity with public sector organisations, non‑departmental or arm’s length bodies relevant to infrastructure.
