An exciting opportunity has arisen for Senior Project Managers to join our expanding central and local government practice in our flagship office in Central London. We are looking for a pro‑active and self‑motivated Senior Project Manager with a logical and structured approach to managing projects of complexity and often with a multitude of stakeholders. An ability to understand the technical inputs required from a design and/or contractor team to overcome problems at the pre‑contract and post‑contract stage would be helpful, as would some experience of contract administration. We would like a team player that recognises the value they bring to our business and our clients’ projects and programmes – someone to work collaboratively with others and exemplify high standards of delivery. We have live projects in London, Cambridge, Hertfordshire, Surrey, and Kent, with many more in the pipeline.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conducting background research, data collection and benchmarking
  • Establishing effective processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project
  • Producing project plans
  • Monitoring and documenting project progress and other performance indicators
  • Tracking and documenting changes
  • Preparing formal project progress and other reports
  • Liaising with the client, contractors and designers
  • Attending meetings and drafting minutes

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification and/or background (preferably civil, structural, mechanical/electrical)
  • Broad understanding of the development lifecycle (business case, design, consents, procurement, delivery, handover, management)
  • Direct experience of on‑site construction
  • Experience in residential‑led or mixed‑use projects, preferably at the enabling stage (could include highways, utilities, enabling works, remediation, public realm, bridges, utility diversions or upgrades, managing S106 or S278 obligations)

SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. Turner & Townsend is an equal‑opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and actively encourage applications from all sectors of the community.
