We are seeking an experienced Senior Bid Manager with strong leadership qualities and a proven track record of winning major bids within the infrastructure sector. This role is critical to driving our continued success and will oversee the development of multimillion‑pound bid responses, ensuring high quality submissions.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to quickly interpret complex bid requirements and lead effective bid planning, bid management, and support storyboarding sessions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing bid timelines, ensuring deadlines are met, and that submissions are upload‑ready.
  • Coordinating timelines across the supply chain and working with the Infrastructure Head of Major Bids to manage the forward pipeline.
  • Facilitating early bid team engagement and overseeing the development and management of the two BG Infra bid support team members.
  • Working with the Business Generation and Knowledge Management team to ensure best‑practice responses are shared across the wider business.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support developing PQQ/ITT responses incorporating the requirements of the specification, within strict timescales.
  • Incorporate local knowledge, evidence/research and writing style/branding ensuring bid is targeted to defined audience.
  • Provide structured format and template for others contributing to bid, proofread for consistency and correct grammar as necessary.
  • Ensure bid is submitted for review for internal quality assurance and governance processes.
  • Work flexibly across the organisation to support Directors dependent on tender activity.
  • Extract key information from tender and manage information in line with information management processes.
  • Support team with technical or policy writing when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for weekly and quarterly reports to executive level audience.
  • Support Business Generation with any other activity as required.
  • Contribute openly to the team with innovations and ideas to ensure the success and development of the company.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree / degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, English, or another relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional membership of a recognised institution (desirable).

Experience:

  • Proven track record of managing and supporting major bids.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the infrastructure sector.
  • Demonstrated success in CV polishing and contributing to winning bid submissions.
  • Proven analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience in developing and supporting the growth of junior colleagues.

Technical Skills:

  • High level of proficiency in MS Office and strong overall IT literacy.
  • Strong formatting and visual editing skills, and proof‑reading assurance capability.
  • Excellent management and communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of how AI tools can support and enhance the bid process.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain high quality outputs.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credible, collaborative relationships across senior stakeholders and bid teams.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and able to respond effectively to changing business priorities.
  • Strong team player who contributes ideas, supports continuous improvement, and promotes best practice.
  • Wider Business Generation skills.
