As part of our Global Internal Communications team, you will work closely with the Global Internal Communications Lead and Global Internal Communications Manager to support the delivery of the Internal Communications strategy and plan, working with colleagues in global regions to ensure consistent messaging, support implementation of key business initiatives and lead on business-as-usual communications across our suite of global internal channels.

- Supporting change across the business reflective of our current and future growth plans.
- Building brand advocacy through great storytelling.
- Demonstrating the wider impact Turner & Townsend has on society through our work with clients.
- Evolving our internal communications channels to best reach our 23,000+ global colleagues.
This role will business-partner effectively with our central Business Services teams (HR, IT, Digital, Corporate Responsibility, Risk & Compliance) to deliver internal communications that engage our people around key initiatives as part of our business strategy. The role will also involve working closely with our internal global digital marketing, content and campaign and external communications teams to deliver a consistent brand experience to our colleagues through creative internal comms campaigns.
Strategic communications
- Support the Global Internal Communications (IC) Lead and Global Internal Communications Manager and Global Marketing and Communications Executive to deliver the IC strategy and plan aligned with overall business objectives.
- Manage and deliver the IC calendar, working closely with Business Service teams and our regional colleagues in global markets to ensure all activities are coordinated and delivered with impact.
- Support global change communications as needed across essential change programmes.
- Support our communications colleagues around the world with best practice internal communications, to ensure our messaging and campaigns are cascaded effectively and consistently.
- Provide toolkits, templates, guidance, training and advice as needed.
- Support on the development and delivery of leadership communications to create compelling content that drives business priorities, enhances visibility, and builds trust and connection with colleagues globally.
Content and campaigns
- Business-partner with our central Business Services teams (e.g. HR, Digital, Corporate Responsibility) to act as an advisor on best practice and approach to colleague communication around strategic business initiatives.
- Collaborate on internal communication planning and delivery, drafting internal communications that engage our global population.
- Collaborate and advise our segment Business Generation Leads to deliver key segment-related news to our colleagues and craft creative ways to raise awareness of our services and capabilities internally.
- Support key dates and awareness campaigns (such as World Mental Health Day, Earth Day and our Global Games initiative).
- Oversee management of our global monthly newsletter, continually evolving the editorial direction and ensuring it acts as a key driver of strategic messages and stories to all our colleagues.
- Drive engagement with Viva Engage, supporting internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, in how to use the platform effectively, providing best practice and learning to drive successful engagement.
- Work effectively with the Knowledge Management team to keep our central SharePoint intranet fresh and engaging, and manage a pipeline of timely, relevant news content which is published and amplified across other channels.
Data & Insights / Emerging Technology
- Track and analyse engagement and performance data, produce internal reporting dashboards and packs with key takeaways and highlights, and make recommendations for improvements to data.
- Utilise AI tools in line with company policy to support the delivery of the role; be an early adopter of new tools and processes to drive wider adoption in the global marketing and communications team.
Qualifications & skills required
- Experience working as a central team (e.g. in a Group, Centre of Excellence or hub-and-spoke model), with regional teams in global allocations is preferred.
- Experience in producing impactful, compelling global communications that drive brand advocacy and corporate pride for a diverse internal audience, including non-office-based colleagues across the world.
- Experience in delivering internal campaigns – executing campaign plans and delivering on time and in budget.
- Experience using email platforms, specifically Poppulo, is required.
- Some experience in using AI tools to enhance content creation and targeting is required; an interest in AI as an internal communications enabler through the adoption of new technologies and driving innovative ways of working is desirable.
- A journalistic understanding of good content with good copywriting and storytelling skills, with demonstrable experience in simplifying complex topics to create clear and persuasive copy.
- A passion for people-centric communications and sustainable and social impact communications, working closely with HR and CR teams.
- Experience of managing creative agencies and internal teams on briefs – e.g. global marketing team to deliver fresh, new ideas while working to tight budgets.
- Familiarity with the MS Office 365 suite, particularly community management and content amplification across Viva Engage.
