Turner & Townsend’s Defence South East Cost Centre supports Defence projects and programmes of varying complexity and size. The role supports the delivery of the growing client portfolio by working on complex, large‑scale programmes and helping our clients achieve their objectives.
Seeking experienced Cost Estimators and Senior Estimators with proven experience across the Infrastructure and/or Defence sectors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Production of estimates (from Order of Magnitude to detailed estimates based on first principles)
- Estimating support to major programme set‑up
- Data analysis and benchmarking
Qualifications
- Qualified to high standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with proven relevant experience
- Proven experience of providing estimating and/or QS services in a large project environment
- Experience with estimating software packages
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status or working towards it (Desirable: membership of RICS, CIOB, or equivalent)
Essential Experience and Skills
- Production of accurate and comprehensive estimates and cost plans in a timely manner
- Control and management of the estimating process at project level
- Production of estimates independently, without management or supervision
- Gathering and sharing of estimating data
- Promotion of estimating best practice within the department
- Assisting in the achievement of departmental objectives
- Staying abreast of developments within the technical area to provide best‑practice advice aligned with business objectives
- Experience working with UK Government organisations
- Experience working within the Nuclear Sector
- Understanding and experience of MoD procedures
Security Clearance
Must be a sole UK national capable of achieving and maintaining UK MoD Security Clearance (SC).
