A Risk Manager will support senior risk managers on projects of varying size and complexity. The role involves accurate capture of risk data, facilitation of risk identification, assessment and prioritisation, maintenance of risk registers, and ensuring that client objectives are met and projects are delivered on time, within cost and quality targets.

Main Purpose of Role

  • Support the team and senior risk managers across diverse projects, ensuring risk data is accurate, timely, and actionable.
  • Facilitate risk cost profiling, risk budgeting, and retirement of threats/opportunities, enabling project delivery to meet time- and cost- targets with appropriate quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

  • Plan, design and implement risk management processes tailored to client needs and aligned with best practice.
  • Facilitate risk workshops with subject‑matter experts.
  • Create and maintain risk registers and other risk information.
  • Challenge risk information to enhance quality and robustness.
  • Drive the implementation of mitigation actions across projects and programmes.
  • Assist the project team with the development of measurable, specific management responses.
  • Conduct quantitative risk assessment (QRA) for cost and schedule impacts to understand remaining risk exposure.
  • Demonstrate competency with tools such as Safran, @risk, PRA, or similar.
  • Produce timely and efficient risk reporting using Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Power BI; familiarity with web‑based database/reporting tools (ARM, Xactium, Predict, Tableau) is desirable.
  • Collaborate with other project controls disciplines to maintain alignment of project information.
  • Work with the supply chain to understand and incorporate their risks.

You have professional risk‑management experience across the project lifecycle and excellent communication skills to convey complex risk information to stakeholders. You are conversant with risk management systems such as Safran, @risk, PRA and possess strategic awareness and critical thinking.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Will be able to obtain BPSS level security clearance.
  • Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., Institute of Risk Management (IRM), Association for Project Management).
  • Familiarity with at least one risk standard or approach (ISO31000, APM, Orange Book, IPA).
  • Risk qualification such as APM Risk Certificate Level 2 or Management of Risk (MoR) is desirable.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience working within a project controls team.
  • Desire to work within the nuclear sector is preferred.
