We are seeking passionate people to join our organisation who have a positive outlook, are seeking development opportunities, and have a strong foundation of technical understanding and experience within defence or other highly regulated industries.
Working in teams/site attendance:
- Turner & Townsend cover a large variety of projects nationwide. Site attendance to remote work can vary, but there is an expectation of site attendance 3 days a week.
You will lead cross-functional teams to implement project controls on large scale multifaceted programmes for a range of key clients in the defence industry. This could focus on a range of programme management key disciplines such as planning and scheduling, cost control, risk management, performance, and reporting.
In order to do this you will need to use excellent stakeholder management, build rapport with clients, and be responsible for representing and upholding the Turner & Townsend brand. Programmes can include anything in the defence industry across a range of sectors from infrastructure to technology development, business change, or commercial.
Example deliverables could include a costed and resourced integrated master schedule, setting up a programme management office, submitting a business case, or implementing earned value analysis. You will lead and mentor junior project controls professionals and project controls engineers.
Qualifications:
- You will be an experienced programme manager with a proven track record of delivering programmes in highly regulated sectors such as defence or infrastructure.
- Ideally, you will have professional Project Controls experience across the whole Project lifecycle and in the application of two or more Project Controls disciplines of Planning and Scheduling, Cost Estimation, Cost Management, Risk Management or Reporting and their associated software/tools.
- You have an advanced understanding of the way in which the Integrated Project Controls disciplines operate, and you can assess the maturity of an organisation and ways of working.
- You are a strong communicator and leader with the ability to influence, manage, motivate, coach, and develop teams and organisations by creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
- You promote empowerment and contribution and have a passion to build a community and support network beyond your delivery role.
- Have a degree in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Are a member of a relevant professional body e.g. Association for Project Management, Project Management Institute.
- Have the ability to make risk-based decisions where the parameters are unclear, and judgement is needed.
- Can adapt your leadership style depending upon the audience and be flexible when working with uncertainty.
- Are competent in using the software needed to perform the role.
- Have a desire to work within various sectors and with a range of clients.
- SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
