Turner & Townsend alinea is currently recruiting for a Senior Utilities Consultant within our Real Estate team to help support our blue-chip real estate and data centre clients, with project values ranging from £millions to £billions.
Role Summary
As a Senior Utilities Consultant within Turner & Townsend alinea’s Real Estate team, you will lead the delivery of high-value utilities infrastructure projects across real estate, data centre, and mixed-use developments. This senior position is responsible for driving technical excellence, ensuring best-value outcomes, mentoring junior colleagues, and strengthening long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of utility projects (water, gas, electricity, and telecoms) from concept to completion.
- Provide strategic cost, procurement, and engineering advice to clients to achieve best value.
- Manage contractors, consultants, and third parties across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Oversee feasibility, procurement, and implementation of new utility connections and diversionary works.
- Attend and lead project meetings, preparing technical and financial reports.
- Ensure projects remain within scope, programme, and budget constraints.
- Contribute to development of digital tools and data-led approaches to enhance project delivery.
- Mentor and support Junior Utilities Consultants and other team members.
- Maintain the highest standards of professional competence and client service.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in utilities project management within consultancy or engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of NEC/JCT contracts and utility procurement strategies.
- Capable of managing complex, high-value, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an ability to lead client discussions.
- Confident using digital tools, data models, and reporting platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.

Qualifications
- Degree or HND in construction, engineering, real estate, or a related utilities discipline.
- Working toward or holding a relevant professional qualification (e.g., RICS, ICE, IET, CEng).
