Job Title: Estimator – Transmission & Distribution
We are seeking experienced Estimators with proven Transmission and Distribution expertise to work on high-profile electrical engineering projects across utilities, renewable power, traction power, water/wastewater, and other industries in the Midlands.
The Estimators will collaborate with the client\’s Estimating team, producing detailed resource-based estimates to evaluate design changes, maintain baseline costs, and challenge contractors\’ estimates. You will report directly to the Regional Estimating Manager.
Job Objectives
- Produce accurate and comprehensive project estimates efficiently, managing the estimating process at the project level.
- Create estimates independently without supervision.
- Support the development and promotion of estimating best practices within Turner & Townsend.
- Assist in achieving departmental objectives.
- Stay updated with developments in your technical area to provide best practice advice aligned with business goals.
- Contribute to developing and driving the Estimating Hub regionally.
Qualifications & Experience
- High standard in Estimating or Quantity Surveying with relevant experience.
- Broad experience in construction projects.
- Successful experience in providing estimating and/or QS services in large project environments.
- Understanding of project management, planning, risk, and investment processes.
- Proficiency in RIB Construction Suite/iTWO at an intermediate level.
- Membership of a relevant professional body with chartered status and/or degree-level education.
- Preferred degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction field.
- Desirable memberships include RICS, CIOB, or A. Cost E.
