Turner Property Recruitment is assisting a leading independent consultancy in their search for a Senior M&E Engineer (Electrical) to join their Birmingham team. This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver electrical building services projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and industrial developments.

The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with mechanical, public health, and sustainability engineers to provide innovative, energy-efficient solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Electrical Design & Specification – including lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, and renewable technologies

• Technical Leadership – conducting feasibility studies, energy assessments, and load calculations

• Project Delivery – supporting MEP projects from concept to completion, including site inspections and commissioning

• Collaboration – working closely with architects, mechanical engineers, and external consultants to ensure seamless project execution

• Sustainability Focus – contributing to decarbonisation strategies by integrating energy-efficient electrical solutions

About You

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline

• Working towards or already achieved Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with IET or equivalent

Experience & Skills:

• Strong background in electrical building services design

• Expertise in BS7671 Wiring Regulations and relevant British Standards

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Amtech (Trimble ProDesign), Dialux, and Relux

• Experience in low-carbon and energy-efficient electrical design

• Previous exposure to HV/LV networks and energy modelling (IES VE preferred)

• Ability to lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with stakeholders
