Senior Building Surveyor – Consultancy

Location: Chichester

Full-Time | Permanent

We’re working with a respected, forward-thinking property and construction consultancy that’s looking to appoint an experienced Senior Building Surveyor to play a key role in their Building Surveying team.

This is a standout opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with the technical expertise, leadership capability, and drive to contribute to a growing and high-performing consultancy team. You’ll work on a broad portfolio of projects across commercial, education, residential, and public sector assets – combining hands-on technical delivery with project and people management responsibilities.

What You\’ll Be Doing

  • Leading on and delivering a wide range of professional Building Surveying services – including dilapidations, contract administration, project monitoring, technical due diligence, and refurbishment schemes
  • Acting as Contract Administrator and/or Project Manager on complex projects, from inception through to completion
  • Overseeing and reviewing the work of junior surveyors; supporting their training and development
  • Managing your own workload, clients, and deadlines while ensuring quality assurance and professional standards are met
  • Liaising directly with clients and consultants, often in a client-facing capacity
  • Contributing to business development and spotting opportunities for further work
  • Staying up to date with legislation (including CDM, BSA) and offering Principal Designer duties when required

What You\’ll Need

  • MRICS qualified with a strong technical Building Surveying background
  • Minimum of 4–5 years\’ post-qualification experience in a consultancy or multidisciplinary setting
  • Proven track record across both professional and project work
  • Comfortable working independently while managing clients and stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members
  • Working knowledge of statutory approvals (Planning, Building Regulations, Party Wall etc.)
  • Strong communication, report writing, and presentation skills
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings
