Turner Property Recruitment is working with an award-winning professional services business to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor for its growing London project team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious consultancy Quantity Surveyor who wants to lead projects, manage client relationships and support the development of junior colleagues within a successful and people-focused business.

The team provides Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Employer’s Agent, Clerk of Works and advisory services across sectors including residential, healthcare, industrial, manufacturing, conservation and commercial property.

The role involves taking responsibility for delivering multiple projects while acting as the principal point of contact for clients, consultants and other project stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading construction projects from inception through to completion
  • Delivering pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying services
  • Acting as Employer’s Agent on design and build projects
  • Acting as Contract Administrator on traditionally procured projects
  • Managing large and complex projects independently
  • Supervising Quantity Surveyors, Assistants and Trainees
  • Supporting the professional development of junior team members
  • Undertaking line management responsibilities
  • Managing key client accounts and developing long-term relationships
  • Ensuring clients receive an exceptional standard of service
  • Identifying opportunities for repeat and new business
  • Supporting networking, marketing and wider business development activity
  • Assisting with internal training and CPD sessions

About you: The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience delivering projects within a construction consultancy
  • The ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • Experience running large or complex construction schemes
  • Strong pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying knowledge
  • Experience managing or supervising a team
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship-management skills
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience undertaking measurement, ideally using CostX
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car
  • The flexibility to travel to sites across the UK when required

MRICS status would be advantageous. However, applications are also welcomed from experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors who are committed to achieving Chartered status within two years.
