Turner Property Recruitment is pleased to be partnering with a leading international and independent real estate consultancy to recruit a Senior or Associate Chartered Building Surveyor for its growing Ashford office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected multidisciplinary team delivering work across commercial and residential property, supporting clients at every stage of the property lifecycle. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape their own career path within a progressive and collaborative business.
The Role
You will support the Kent based surveying team on a wider range of instructions, taking responsibility for delivering high quality professional consultancy services across varied building types and sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out inspections and providing advice on construction, repair, maintenance and refurbishment of buildings
- Undertaking acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations
- Preparing detailed reports, schedules of work and specifications
- Designing and overseeing works in accordance with recognised building contracts and current technical standards
- Managing projects independently from inception through to completion
- Applying relevant legislation including health and safety, party wall matters, building regulations and planning
- Supporting and mentoring APC candidates
About You
- MRICS accredited
- Strong experience in building surveying within a consultancy environment
- Proven track record in defect diagnosis and report writing
- Experience negotiating with contractors and professional stakeholders
- Ability to manage instructions to deadline and within budget
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, Party Wall legislation and Building Regulations
- Professional, flexible and proactive in approach
- Committed to delivering high standards of client care
