Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy to recruit a

Senior Quantity Surveyor for its expanding Preston office.

Following the successful appointment to several prestigious projects, our client is looking to strengthen its Cost Management team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor who enjoys delivering high-quality work across a diverse range of sectors.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative Quantity Surveying and Project Management team, you'll be responsible for managing projects throughout the full project lifecycle while providing expert commercial advice to a broad client base.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of projects from inception through to completion.
  • Delivering Cost Consultancy, Contract Administration and Employer's Agent services.
  • Preparing cost estimates, cost plans and feasibility advice.
  • Producing tender documentation, schedules of work and Employer's Requirements.
  • Preparing contract documentation.
  • Assessing and negotiating variations.
  • Preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts.
  • Attending client, design and site progress meetings.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Cost Management team.

About You

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate

  • A minimum of 7 years' post-graduate Quantity Surveying experience.
  • Consultancy experience delivering projects across multiple sectors.
  • MRICS qualified or currently working towards chartership (full support available).
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement and contract administration.
  • Experience administering JCT contracts (NEC experience is advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience using Cost X considered advantageous.
