Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a highly respected, independent construction and property consultancy to appoint a Director of Project Management for its Nottingham office. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious and commercially minded project management leader to take on a pivotal role focused on business development, client engagement, and revenue growth rather than day-to-day project delivery.

Our client has an established reputation across the built environment and is seeking a well-connected professional who can leverage existing relationships, identify new opportunities, and help drive the next phase of growth across the Midlands and wider UK market.

The Opportunity

This role is ideally suited to an experienced Associate Director, Director, or senior Project Management professional who enjoys building relationships, winning work, and shaping business strategy. You will become a key figure within the leadership team, responsible for developing new client relationships, expanding existing accounts, and increasing the consultancy's presence across both public and private sector markets. While a strong technical understanding of project management consultancy is important, this is fundamentally a client-facing, growth-focused position where your ability to generate opportunities and convert them into revenue will be the primary measure of success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy aligned with the consultancy's growth objectives.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new project management opportunities across target sectors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, investors, occupiers, contractors, and public sector clients.
  • Lead client engagement activities, networking initiatives, and strategic account management.
  • Prepare and contribute to winning bids, proposals, presentations, and tender submissions.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to identify market opportunities and growth areas.
  • Promote the consultancy's services across regional and national markets.
  • Support the development and mentoring of project management teams as the business grows.
  • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Contribute to wider business planning and strategic decision-making.

About You

We are keen to speak with professionals who possess:

  • A proven track record of winning work within a construction consultancy, project management consultancy, or multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong relationships and networks across the Midlands property and construction market.
  • Experience operating at Associate Director, Director, or equivalent senior level.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and business development skills.
  • A demonstrable ability to generate fee income and secure new client instructions.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • A background in project management, construction consultancy, development, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accreditations such as MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or equivalent desirable.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence both internally and externally.

Why Consider This Role?

  • Genuine opportunity to shape and influence the growth strategy of a successful consultancy.
  • Leadership position with significant autonomy and visibility.
  • Strong support from an established delivery team, allowing you to focus on client development and work-winning activities.
  • Opportunity to build your own market presence and create lasting impact on the business.
  • Competitive salary, bonus structure, and long-term career progression.

If you are a commercially driven Project Management leader looking for a role where your network, relationships, and ability to win work will be truly valued, we would be delighted to arrange a confidential discussion.
