Newcastle upon Tyne Full-Time No working from home possible
Turner Property Recruitment

Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading construction and property consultancy to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Associate‑level professional to join their Newcastle team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established cost management professional to take ownership of a significant client account within the healthcare sector, while also supporting and developing a growing team of Quantity Surveyors.

The role offers a blend of client leadership, commercial management and team development within a well‑respected consultancy that continues to expand its presence across the North East and nationally.

The Role

Working as part of an established cost management team, you will be responsible for managing the commercial delivery of a major healthcare client account, ensuring exceptional service levels and successful project outcomes across a varied programme of works.

This is not a business development or work‑winning position. Instead, the focus is on client account management, project delivery and people leadership, making it an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys building long‑term client relationships and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cost management services across a major healthcare client account.
  • Manage multiple projects and programmes from inception to completion.
  • Prepare and oversee cost plans, estimates, tender documentation and cost reporting.
  • Provide commercial advice and strategic guidance to clients and project teams.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing client relationships through high‑quality service delivery.
  • Support the management, mentoring and development of junior Quantity Surveyors.
  • Ensure projects are delivered inline with commercial, programme and quality objectives.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the regional cost management team.

About You

  • Proven experience within a construction consultancy or professional cost management environment.
  • Operating currently at Senior Quantity Surveyor, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Associate level.
  • Strong client‑facing skills with experience managing key client relationships and project portfolios.
  • Excellent leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Healthcare sector experience would be highly desirable.
  • Candidates from other built‑environment sectors will also be considered.
  • Experience with civil engineering or infrastructure‑focused environments is unlikely to be suitable for this position.
  • Strong commercial awareness and technical Quantity Surveying expertise.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
  • MRICS status is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary ranging from £55,000 to £70,000 depending on experience and level.
  • Opportunity to manage a significant and established healthcare client account.
  • Leadership responsibilities with genuine influence over team development.
  • Clear progression opportunities within a growing consultancy.
  • Diverse and interesting project portfolio.
  • Supportive, collaborative and flexible working environment.
  • Competitive benefits package and ongoing professional development.

If you’re an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of a key client relationship while helping shape and develop a successful team, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
