A growing, multi-disciplinary consultancy is looking to recruit a Chartered Building Surveyor to join their established team in Manchester. This is a varied and client-facing role, with a focus on delivering high-quality professional and project-based building surveying services across both residential and commercial sectors.
The Role: You’ll be responsible for a wide range of surveying duties including:
- Building inspections and condition surveys
- Defect diagnosis and report writing
- Preparation of schedules of work and specifications
- Project management and contract administration
- Insurance reinstatement work, including major and complex loss
- Party Wall, CDM, and Building Regulation matters
- Supporting and mentoring APC candidates
- Representing the company in a professional manner and supporting business development activity
You will work independently on a diverse workload, often within the insurance sector, supporting long-term client relationships and delivering practical, workable solutions for buildings of all types and construction.
About You:
- MRICS qualified
- Strong technical expertise in professional surveying and contract administration
- Insurance-related project experience is desirable
- Confident communicator with client-facing experience
- Proficient in current technical standards, health & safety, and building regulations
- Strong report writing, problem-solving and time management skills
- Experience in working on complex projects to deadlines and within budget
- A positive and collaborative attitude, with a willingness to mentor junior staff
