Turner Property Recruitment is working in partnership with a highly respected, multi-disciplinary built environment consultancy that is experiencing rapid growth within its Fire Engineering and Fire Safety offering. Due to increasing demand from both existing and new clients, we are seeking senior, experienced Fire Engineers and Fire Risk Assessors to join a growing, well-backed team delivering complex and high-profile work across high-risk residential, mixed-use, university and student accommodation sectors.
This is a genuine opportunity for ambitious professionals who feel constrained in their current role and are looking to influence, shape and develop a fire engineering service within a progressive and forward-thinking consultancy.
The fire engineering service is expanding at pace and is led by a highly experienced Principal Fire Engineer with over 35 years’ experience across consultancy, engineering and dispute resolution. The business holds best-in-class £10m PII per claim, enabling involvement in technically challenging and high-value projects.
The role offers exposure to a broad and developing service line, including:
- BSR Gateway assistance
- CFD and evacuation modelling
- FRAEWs in line with PAS 9980
- External wall and façade assessments
- Fire strategies (including retrospective)
- Fire engineering analysis and design reviews
- Construction fire safety management and site oversight
- Expert witness and forensic investigation work
- Fire risk assessments (Types 1–4)
- Compliance assessments against legislation and best practice
This is a national role, primarily covering England and Wales, with flexibility to be based from London or Manchester.
This opportunity will appeal to senior fire engineering professionals with strong technical credibility and a deep understanding of the current fire safety landscape. Candidates should be fully conversant with relevant legislation and guidance, including (but not limited to):
- Building Safety Act 2022 & Building Act 1984
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (as amended)
- Fire Safety Act 2021 & Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
- BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 7974
- PAS 9980
- Approved Documents (fire-related)
- Fire safety guidance for purpose-built residential buildings
- Façade and external wall systems
You will likely hold a degree in engineering or a fire safety-related discipline and be either:
- A Chartered or Incorporated Fire Engineer (IFE), or
- A fully qualified member of a relevant professional body with equivalent experience and standing
