This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected organisation managing a substantial and diverse real estate portfolio across the healthcare, specialised education, and supported living sectors. The Opportunity
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic management and long-term stewardship of a complex, multi-sector property portfolio. You will bring a strong technical surveying background alongside proven experience in asset leadership, programme delivery, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a confident, commercially minded professional who can operate autonomously while influencing at senior level.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead and develop the UK asset management function across a diverse portfolio
- Provide strategic insight to senior leadership, identifying risks, opportunities and long-term priorities
- Drive best practice in asset management strategy, governance, and reporting
- Portfolio Management
- Oversee inspections, maintenance, and improvement programmes
- Ensure high standards of compliance, condition, and risk management across all assets
- Manage refurbishment and capital works programmes to deliver quality and value
- Programme & Project Delivery
- Lead complex, multi-site programmes across the UK
- Manage external consultants, surveyors, and contractors, ensuring accountability and performance
- Establish clear governance and reporting across major workstreams
- Technical Leadership
- Act as the senior authority on building pathology, compliance, and risk
- Review and sign off on technical reports, condition surveys, and investment recommendations
- Translate technical insight into clear strategic decisions
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, consultants, and service providers
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, ESG, and investment teams
- Represent the business at a senior level externally
About You
We are seeking an experienced and highly credible asset management professional with:
- A degree in Building Surveying or related discipline
- MRICS (or equivalent senior professional accreditation)
- A proven track record managing large, complex property portfolios
- Strong technical knowledge across building pathology, compliance, fire safety, and H&S
- Experience delivering ESG and sustainability initiatives within real estate
- Demonstrated leadership of major programmes and external teams
- The ability to operate independently with sound judgement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
Experience within healthcare, supported living, or other regulated residential environments would be highly advantageous.
