An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Building Surveyor or experienced Building Surveyor to join a growing multidisciplinary consultancy in Nottingham. The Role

  • Undertaking condition surveys, acquisition surveys and defect investigations
  • Preparing reports, schedules of work and technical specifications
  • Advising on the maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings
  • Designing and overseeing works using recognised building contracts
  • Delivering residential and commercial repair and refurbishment projects
  • Supporting insurance-related building surveying instructions
  • Advising on relevant legislation, including CDM Regulations, Party Wall matters, Building Regulations and planning
  • Supporting and providing guidance to junior team members where appropriate
  • Helping to develop client relationships and secure further work

About You

Applications are welcomed from Building Surveyors at Assistant through to experienced Surveyor level. Ideally, you will have:

  • A BSc or MSc in Building Surveying or a related discipline
  • Experience within a building surveying, consultancy or multidisciplinary environment
  • Knowledge of defect diagnosis, report writing and project delivery
  • An understanding of CDM 2015, Building Regulations and Party Wall legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A methodical approach to problem-solving
  • The ability to manage deadlines and work effectively as part of a team
  • Previous insurance repair experience would be beneficial for the more experienced position but is not essential.

Salary and Benefits

The salary is flexible for the right individual and will be based on experience:

  • Assistant Building Surveyor: Around £35,000
  • Building Surveyor: Around £62,000
