Senior Building Surveyor for their London office.

One of the flagship schemes currently underway is a
£13 million CAT A office refurbishment , alongside several other high-profile projects requiring substantial investment.

The Role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you'll lead refurbishment, repair and development projects across a diverse commercial portfolio, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.
Working closely with Asset Management, Facilities Management and external consultants, you'll provide technical expertise, oversee contract administration and ensure projects protect and enhance long-term asset value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead refurbishment, repair and development projects from initial feasibility through to completion and handover.
- Manage project budgets, programmes and cash flow, ensuring successful delivery against business objectives.
- Administer construction contracts, managing instructions, variations, certifications and project documentation.
- Prepare tender documentation and oversee procurement and contractor appointments.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including Planning, Building Control, CDM Regulations and Party Wall matters.
- Monitor project risks, programme changes and cost variations while maintaining clear reporting throughout.
- Undertake building inspections, diagnose defects and provide technical advice on refurbishment strategies.
- Support acquisitions through technical due diligence and review of surveys and reports.
- Manage consultants, contractors and design teams, ensuring accountability and high performance.
- Provide technical support to Asset Managers on investment decisions and portfolio improvements.
- Manage tenant alterations, repairs, dilapidations and maintenance matters where required.
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready project documentation throughout every stage of delivery.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Building Surveyor who combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and enjoys taking ownership of projects.
You’ll ideally have
- Strong Building Surveying experience within the commercial property sector.
- MRICS qualification (or working towards/equivalent experience).
- Excellent project management and contract administration skills.
- Experience managing refurbishment and capital works projects.
- Strong understanding of construction technology, defects diagnosis and cost control.
- Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, Building Control, Planning and Party Wall legislation.
- The confidence to challenge contractors and consultants to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
